Keith's HTML Tutorial

Welcome to my HTML Tutorial. If you're new or fairly new to the fun, frustrating and rewarding business of building web pages, I hope you'll find it useful.

Inside you'll learn about the structure of HTML documents and how to use all of the major HTML tags and attributes -- and how to use them properly, in accordance with the HTML specifications. When you reach the end, you'll have the knowledge you need to embark upon web page design. Practice makes perfect, so why not go on to exploit your new skills by building a web site of your own?

If you'd prefer to study this tutorial offline, you can download all of the files in one compressed archive (Zip format for PC users, and StuffIt for Mac users). Just expand the file in a directory of your choice, then load the file named "index.html" into your web browser to begin.

To use this tutorial, you will need a browser that is compliant with HTML 4.0 or higher. You can find information in Appendix A on where to download suitable browsers, as well as how to get some free fonts for ideal web viewing.

If you have any comments to make about this tutorial, suggestions on how to improve it, or if you spot any errors (ouch!), please send me an email.

Just a point about email: I get tons of it, so please don't email me with detailed questions about HTML. I've included links and references to excellent resources in Appendix D of this tutorial, so please look there first. If you're really stuck, then you can try emailing me, but I can't promise to answer. Sorry!
