About Keith Bell

I popped into the world at about the time Bill Haley was rockin' around the clock. I opened my eyes in Scotland's capital city of Edinburgh, and I guess I must have liked what I saw -- I've lived there ever since.
I spent most of my professional life working as an engineer and manager with companies involved in military avionics, space vehicle guidance, computer systems, and electronic components... until a friend and I got fed up of working for other people, and we set up a consultancy practice in 1991. After about nine years, I gave up my interest in that business to set up a new company with two trading arms, Campanile Communications and Campanile Consulting.
I've been using PCs since the earliest days -- it was fun when you got your whole operating system on a single 360K 5.25inch floppy (sigh!) -- and for a time in the '80s I was in computer geek heaven when I worked with a major American PC manufacturer. Along the way, I've tinkered with various programming languages, usually to hack out practical applications for manufacturing and quality systems in the companies that employed me.
A few years ago, the possibilities of the WWW caught my imagination, and I set about learning HTML and the principles of web design. Now I'm asked to develop web sites for other people, and I'm enjoying this more than anything else at the moment. If you are interested in having me produce a web site for you, email me or check out the Campanile Communications web site.
I hope you get something out of my Tutorial. If you haven't done so already, please take a look at my personal web site: just hit the Home button in the sidebar on the right. I look forward to your visit!
